DIY - Make your own cakeboard

Sometimes you need a cake board that you wont find in any shop. So you make one yourself :)

 

What you need:

 

• Boxboard (office supplies shop)
• Box cutter
• Cutting pad
• Pen
• Sticky tape
• Instant adhesive
• Aluminium foil
• Wrapping paper of your choice
• Transparent foil (not on picture)

Start by cutting out the boxboard in the size you want your cake board to be. You will need two pieces of the same size. Glue them together. Now, to protect it from any moisture that would soften it up, wrap it in aluminium foil and use the sticky tape to adhere to the bottom.

Now cover it all in your wrapping paper.

 

My wrapping paper was quite thin, so I used the transparent foil to cover everything once more. Also, this is another layer of protection against moisture. And it gives your board a shiny appearance which I quite like.

 

This way, you can create cake boards of any size and any shape you like! Endless possibilities :)
